World Day of Prayer - March 7th 2 pm Brechin United Church Nanaimo
The WORLD DAY OF PRAYER service this year will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 7 at Brechin United Church in Nanaimo. The host church changes each year and focuses on different areas around world needing prayer and financial aid. This service will raise funds to support the indigenous peoples of the Cook Islands in the South Pacific, a group of 15 sparsely populated islands with tourism being the principle source of income. Closely associated with New Zealand, the Cook Islands present a strong Polynesian cultural community. Mary Tice and Lorraine Swaile will participate in this service. The PWA of St. Andrew's has been a participant in the WDP for many years, hosting the 2024 service which focused on the Palestinian people in the Middle East
Anyone interested in attending, please reach out to Lorraine at Lorr.swaile@gmail.com.

Memorial Plants for Easter
With Easter fast approaching, we think of Jesus’ life, His teachings, and most important of all, His death, and glorious resurrection for each of us! Hallejuah!!
In this time of remembrance, our thoughts also turn to cherished memories of family members and friends who have gone before us. To honour them, it has been our custom to place plants in the Sanctuary in their memory.
Following the Service we invite you to take your plant(s) home to continue enjoying its relevance. If you would like to place a memorial plant(s), we ask that you complete a form, (found on the table in the Narthex or from Michelle in the office), and contribute $16.00 to defray the cost of each plant.
Please return completed forms to Merrilyn Jones’ mailbox in the Narthex or to the office with $16.00 per plant in cash or by cheque (payable to Merrilyn Jones). The plants will be ‘white’ or ‘yellow’; please indicate your colour preference.
Please DO NOT pay through your envelopes.
Completed forms and remittances must be received no later than Sunday, April 6th 2025.
Thank you and God Bless,
Merrilyn Jones

Pancake Supper/ Shrove Tuesday - March 4th
Save the date on your calendar Tuesday March 4th - time: early evening. More details coming soon. For many years, St. Andrew's PWA hosted a pancake lunch, last year it became a Pancake Supper as a family event. The tradition dates back to medieval England where homes feasted to use up supplies of eggs, milk and sugar before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, the 40-day period of fasting and reflection leading up to Easter.
